OneRepublic was nominated for a Grammy in 2008 for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals and have sold almost 2 million albums and 8 million singles.
The band's 2007 hit "Apologize," from their album Dreaming Out Loud went to #1 in 16 countries. OneRepublic achieved success on MySpace, becoming the most prominent un-signed act on the website. In 2006 they released their debut album, Dreaming Out Loud.
OneRepublic achieved chart success with their first single, “Apologize.” A remix of "Apologize" was featured on the Timbaland album, Shock Value. The remix became a major hit both in the U.S. and internationally, reaching number-one in 16 countries.
The remix was included in the deluxe edition of Dreaming Out Loud. OneRepublic also achieved national success with their second single, "Stop and Stare," which charted in the top twelve on the Billboard Hot 100. Dreaming Out Loud was certified Gold in the United States.
The band's second album, Waking Up, was released on November 17, 2009. The lead single from the album, “All the Right Moves” charted in the top 30 on the Billboard Hot 100.
A year ago, Kris Allen was a struggling musician living in Arkansas. But after winning Season 8 of "American Idol", today he is signed to a major record label and recently released his self-titled debut album "Kris Allen," featuring the hit single "Live Like We're Dying".
Allen's Idol coronation song, "No Boundaries" and his version of "Heartless" both charted within the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100. Allen's post-Idol self-titled album was released on November 17, 2009, through Jive Records.
The album debuted at #11 on the U.S. Billboard 200 shifting over 80,000 copies. The album's lead single, "Live Like We're Dying", was released on September 21, 2009, and has so far peaked at #18 in the U.S.
